Ilmington Show 2016
The annual Village Show was held as usual on August Bank Holiday Monday, 29 August, on the village playing fields on the Mickleton Road.

Starting at 1.00 pm, there is a full afternoon of entertainment. This year the principal display ring event will be a Wild West Shootout by 'The Lawmen' who will give two thrilling displays. As always the dog agility demonstrations will provide fun for dogs and their owners. And children are specially catered for by puppet shows, face-painting, bouncy castles, etc.

There will be the usual range of funfair stalls – as well as rides and puppets, archery, crafts, classic car display and parade. Indulge in a range of refreshments including a pig roast, BBQ, ice cream stall, Pimms bar or tea and cake while enjoying the AD concert band. Prepare to be moved by a flypast by an aircraft from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster Bomber requested; operations permitting on the day).

There is much more to see and enjoy including the village's annual show of flowers, fruit, vegetables, cookery and crafts with all its beautiful exhibits on display in the main marquee during the afternoon. This will open for viewing from around 2.30 pm with prize giving at 4.30 pm. The deadline for entries is Wednesday 24 August. They can be submitted at The Red Lion in Ilmington between  7.00 and 8.30 pm or sent to Susan Brock, Daisy Cottage, Front St., Ilmington, CV36 4LA.

If you would like to support this important event in the life of the village and have some spare time on Bank Holiday Monday, why not join the Show team? We need people to help with  erecting stands, supervising attractions (for example Crazy Golf, assault course) , taking money and other odd jobs.  If you can help please contact Alan Wright, 01608 682660 or John Wilber 01608 682560.
