Ilmington Parish Council

Ilmington Parish CouncilIPC

Ilmington, like many villages throughout our District, will be affected by the Stratford Core Strategy, Infrastrcture Levy, and the Site Allocation Plan. The Parish Council has made representations on each consultation on behalf of the village, but always welcomes input from Parishioners.

Ilmington’s well-regarded Parish Plan is still taken into account for planning decisions but it is now out of date.  Many parishes are considering pursuing a Neighbourhood Plan.  Once adopted, a Neighbourhood Plan will be a material consideration in any planning application. Pursuing a Neighbourhood Plan would take a great deal of resources and could take at least two years to complete.  Updating the Parish Plan would take considerably less resources and time, but, once complete, it would carry much less weight in planning decisions. The Parish Council are deliberating how to move forward on this.

Phone Box Consultation:  At the conclusion of the consultation period, 96 Parishioners responded. Of those 64% voted to remove the phone box and 36% voted to have it remain.  IPC reflected on all the comments put forward and decided to monitor the Phone Box’s usage and review it in 12 months’ time.

Would a Neighbourhood Plan affect future development in Ilmington?
Ilmington Parish Council hosted a Coffee Morning to explain to parishioners what a Neighbourhood Plan is and what it can and can’t do for Ilmington.    But we really need to know if you think is something Ilmington should pursue.  Your voice really matters.  If you missed the Coffee Morning or want to review what we discussed, please talk to a Parish Councillor or download a copy of the Exhibition Posters here.  Please note the size of the pages are A3.  Let us know your thoughts using the survey sheet which you can download hereor you can find them in the Community Shop.  You can put your responses in the IPC Suggestion Box in the Community Shop (deadline is 16th of January).
