Ilmington Parish Council

Ilmington Horticultural Society
President: Mrs Sylvia Gardner

The Society, which is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society, dates back to 1945.
Ilmington’s Horticultural Society does not have members but organises visits and events that are open to all. Its main activity is to run an Annual Show of fruit, flowers, vegetables, cookery and crafts which takes place each Bank Holiday Monday as part of Ilmington Show.
Anyone can enter whether they live in Ilmington or outside the village and there are special classes for children so all the family can join in. You don’t have to be an expert grower, cook or artist but this is a real competition with trophies to be won. Have a go and enjoy  producing the best flowers, vegetables, jams, cakes, wines, photos and art and crafts. Here are some tips on how to prepare your entries and what the judges are looking for. The 2018 show will take place on Monday 27 August. Schedules and entry forms are available by selecting the link on the right hand column. The Committee is looking for helpers for  the day of the Show to steward, put up tables, etc. Please contact Susan Brock if you able to spare an hour or two.

The Society also organises garden visits, open to everyone:

Wednesday 18 July. AFTERNOON VISIT TO MORTON HALL, HOLBERROW, REDDITCH. A group visit for between 10 and 25 people, £10 per person, which includes a guided tour and tea with cake. Shared cars departing Ilmington 1pm.
