Ilmington Parish Council

Ilmington Horticultural Society
President: Mrs Sylvia Gardner

The Society, which is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society, dates back to 1945.
Ilmington’s Horticultural Society does not have members but organises visits and events that are open to all. Its main activity is to run an Annual Show of fruit, flowers, vegetables, cookery and crafts which takes place each Bank Holiday Monday as part of Ilmington Show.
Anyone can enter whether they live in Ilmington or outside the village and there are special classes for children so all the family can join in. You don’t have to be an expert grower, cook or artist but this is a real competition with trophies to be won. Have a go and enjoy  producing the best flowers, vegetables, jams, cakes, wines, photos and art and crafts. Here are some tips on how to prepare your entries and what the judges are looking for. The 2019 show will take place on Monday 26 August. Schedules and entry forms will be available by selecting the link on the right hand column. The Committee is looking for helpers for  the day of the Show to steward, put up tables, etc. Please contact Susan Brock if you able to spare an hour or two.
